After my first attempt of taking the test I was sad not getting what I wanted (L8.5 R8 W6.5 S7). In order to get registered to GMC (General Medical Council/UK) as a doctor, I was required to get 7.5 or above from each domain. Ryan's sources, especially ebooks, helped me a lot at this point and I could increase my writing score from 6.5 to 8! (L8 R8 W8 S7.5 Overall 8 Band Score). I wholeheartedly believe that he knows what he is dealing with and I strongly advice every ilets candidate to follow his teaching materials and sources as much as they can! Good luck!!

6.5 to 8 is such abnormal band growth (assuming your exams were taken within a few months of each other). How was your band 6.5 IELTS experience different from your band 8 IELTS experience? What specifically did you change about your writing? Can any of the band growth be attributed to the questions you received (i.e. were you more versed in the lexicon required for the second)?
