The use of guns by police encourages violence in a society
Do you agree or disagree?

In recent years, there is an increasing use of dangerous arms like guns in many countries around the world. Even though these weapons are used for controlling crimes by many government bodies such as Police and Army, they have also been used by wrongdoers for spreading terror in many communities. In my opinion, the use of guns by Police is for deterring crimes and maintaining peace in a country.

To begin with , guns have helped to maintain peace in many parts of the world. For instance, in war-affected regions such as Lebanon, security personnel keep these firearms for securing lives of public and themselves. Criminals are often deterred from committing wrong because they have fear of getting shot by the peace-keeping officials. As a result, possession of these firearms have significantly reduced crimes and violence in that region.

In addition, the use of gun by security officers is subjected to some security protocols which controls its usage and conditions. It is only to be used in extreme condition where it is the right thing to do so. If any officer use these weapons outside the security protocol then he is likely to be under criminal investigation and charged. As an example, a police officer in Nepal was sent to jail for 5 years for using his firearm unnecessarily outside his duty hours. These protocols also deters other officials from using their firearms outside of the laws. As can be established from above, the use of gun is limited to safeguarding of country and its citizens.

In conclusion, the proper use of firearms by police assist in stabilizing peace in a country and limits the criminal activities. Thus, it is clear that right use of guns does not encourage violence ,but fights against it.
