Task 2 - charging for admission

Post by rairaichan0115 »

Many museums charge for admission while others are free.

Do you think the advantages of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the disadvantages?

A majority of museum visitors have to pay for entrance fees, however, some people have an exception to enter it without payment. It is agreed that the benefit of requiring people for paying the admission to museums far outweigh its drawbacks. This essay will be discussed the benefits of its. The advantages are twofold.

Firstly, it is an undeniable fact that the museums would use those incomes gaining from the visitors to maintain the facilities of museums. For instance, last year Getty Center had maintained a completed fire prevention system. Therefore, it can avoid the biggest fire disaster which had happened in California as well as preserved their valuable items. This makes it clear that without charging is impossible to keep the museum in good condition. As this shows, it has a positive effect on requiring entry fee from guests.

Secondly, even more importantly, though, the museums will gain operation fee from those visitors. The running fees include employee payments, cleaning fees and maintenance the priceless historical items. Without those incomes, the museums are unable to provide excellent services and a nice environment. Consequently, the government does not need to offer any subsidies to the museums due to they have significant incomes from visitors.

In conclusion, how the museums can gain considerable advantages from charging admission, it has been proven that it has more pros than cons. Furthermore, I believe that it seems highly advisable for the museums to offer more attractive activities to visitors in order to increase their incomes.
