Instead of asking the government to bear the cost of higher education, students should pay tuition fees themselves. DO you agree?

It is always been argued that whether the authority should pay for tertiary education, or it should be paid by students themselves. In this essay, i tend to disagree with the former view due to students' affordability and a government's responsibility, even though the tertiary students might learn to appreciate, by paying the study fees on their own.

Understandably, undergraduates may learn to appreciate this learning opportunity better if they are self-funded. Some students would understand that money is not easy to earn as they have to work harder to pay for it; or that their parents have to work extra time to help paying for their children's education. They would learn that nothing is come for free and will not skip lectures unnecessarily or fail the examination without giving their best efforts. Eventually, they will become more responsible for their own livings as well as become more independent.

Nevertheless, there are more concrete reasons explaining why students ought not to pay for the fees. One of the key factors is that they are usually not affordable to do so. Most students do not have extra time for working since they require the time to complete assignments, assessments, and revisions, be it at home or at university. If they do have the time, they could only work as part-timers or casual staff to cover a small part of the fees. It is, therefore, unwise and unproductive since they cannot pay full attention on academic learning, while could potentially drop out from the university at anytime.

Moreover, it is a government's responsibility in supporting and caring for its citizens. One of the main roles of them in ruling is to maintain and improve the educational levels of its people, so that the educated or the fresh graduates can contribute to their country in the future. Such a support will accelerate the growth of a nation more effectively as the tertiary graduates are mostly well-informed, skillful and knowledgeable individuals.

To conclude, i mostly disagree that undergraduate students should fund for their own studies, because they are generally not ready yet and such a responsibility ought to fall on the shoulder's of the government instead, though young adults might learn the sense of appreciation by paying for themselves.

Hello!

This is a very good essay. Your points are clear and developed. There is a very good range of vocabulary with some high level items. The range of grammar is a little limited, but still good and accuracy is good too.

To get a very high score, you need to work on the grammar.

Well done!
