Nowadays the differences between countries are becoming less evident because we see the same TV shows, advertisements, fashion and follow the same brands. To what extent the advantages of this trend outweigh its disadvantages?
Electronic media is playing pivotal role in making this world as a global village. However, some people may believe that, there are some drawbacks of it. In my opinion, if we look at the benefits and their impact on humanity as a whole , they are far outweighing their disadvantages.
People, whether are living in remote areas of Africa or in Wall Street have type accessibility to internet , through which they can flick through any TV channel or magazine. In this scenario , people from all walk of life are mimicking the same type of way of life. If it is not for their race , colour or language it will become impossible to distinguish between them and it is becoming threatening to their local culture and language. As a consequence to it some of them may go extinct in near future.
This negative impact is not much real because people who opt new trends do not abandoned their own and as a matter of fact they learn new language as their second language. Chinese living in America , for instance, are following their customs and celebrating their local festivals in the same manner they were doing in their home country.
On the other hand , by learning other’s culture bring diversity, compassion and mutual understanding between them, which can help to make this world better place to live in. Because who people follow the same fashion are more likely to get comfortable with each other irrespective of their race colour or language and it can open the for above opportunities. Another important positive point is that, watching TV programs from other culture help viewer to broaden their horizon as they show different things in their own perspective. Last but not the least, standard of living of people is rising because they have more choices to follow and as consequence to all of them world economy is also flourishing.
In conclusion, it is conspicuous from above that benefits are overcoming the negative of following similar trends.

Please critique on this essay too....

There is a ubiquitous presence of the TV and the Internet in the whole world, which are the predominant source of promoting advertisements and fashions and as a result most of the people of different countries follow the same brands of different products. That’s why, difference among countries are declining, which has some benefits and drawbacks. In my opinion, there are more drawbacks of having this vogue.

On the one hand, there are various short term benefits of this trend. Firstly, people of different countries follow the same brand after watching advertisements and fashion of the same brand, so that they look like similar and as a result, love start growing among the people of different nations. Moreover, there is a chance to understand the culture and language of other nations, which will definitely be good to increase the harmony among each other.

On the other hand, there is more deteriorating effect of having this trend. Countries, who are not expert in fashion industry or do not have enough asset to run the advertisements, will start following the culture of other country. For example, national dress of Saudi Arabian is GHUTRA. Now, after influence of the electronic media, they start wearing pant shirts. That’s why it considers as invasion on culture of different countries. Moreover, some brands are totally against of the culture of different countries. For example, in the western countries people may wear the short clothes, but in the Middle Eastern countries, it is prohibited.

In conclusion, I opine that the influence of the advertisement among masses has both pros and cons but there are more drawbacks then benefits that’s why local government should closely monitor advertisements and brands according to their local culture and ban inappropriate materials.
