This figure has increased considerably as modern science has diagnosed many incurable diseases. In addition to this, the living style of people has also changed as they are more benefited from modern technology that is helping them to prolong their lives. These facts would be looked upon in the context of how the aged people have affected individuals as well the society.
The older people have significant impact on a society that could be negative or positive. For example, the presence of older people in a family could help the younger ones in decision-making. This fact is very well supported as the aged persons have spent their lives and they are more matured and experienced than the youngsters. At the same time, sometimes it becomes quite cumbersome to look after aged people. It is because modern world had become a fast-paced place that means hardly anyone can find enough time for his or her elder ones.
Now it would be looked upon from a global prospect that how aged people are affecting people and society globally. As the number of older people on rise, it has compelled the governments to keep rising the amount of old age benefits. As once, a person reaches a certain age then he or she has to retire from his or her job. Therefore, more resources are allotted for the well-being and look after of aged population. This could in turn reduce the funds allocated for education of the youngsters or for rural development projects. However if aged people are allowed to continue their jobs then this spending of money would be justifiable.
In summary, the rising number of aged persons badly affects the economy of a country. Therefore, they should be encouraged and allowed to continue their careers. Thus in this way, we could benefit from their maturity and would not have to pay them in return.
