letter < course discontinue>

Post by durai »

You have a full-time job and are also doing a part-time evening course. You now find that you cannot continue the course. Write a letter to the course tutor. In your letter
• describe the situation
• explain why you cannot continue at this time
• say what action you would like to take

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Durai, and I am studying an evening course at your university. Unfortunately, I am unable to continue my course, and that is the reason for this letter.

I thought learning “LINUX’ at your college would develop my program writing skills. Also, I assumed this one will provide me a deeper understanding in the Operating System. This were the reasons why I joined this course while working as a Software Engineer at Aldi Innovations.

To my utter surprise, I am appointed as a Senior Project Manager and transferred to the company’s branch in Australia for one year. This promotion was one of my ambitions, so I accepted without any hesitation. The pay rate also increased by 30%, and as a result, I cannot continue my course.

As you know, I always very keen to develop my knowledge with ‘LINUX’ program. So I am looking forward to rejoin my class once I returned from overseas.

Await your reply.

Yours faithfully,

Durai

Hi Durai,
A few personal understandings:

You have a full-time job and are also doing a part-time evening course. You now find that you cannot continue the course. Write a letter to the course tutor. In your letter
• describe the situation
• explain why you cannot continue at this time
• say what action you would like to take

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Durai, andI am studying an evening course at your university. Unfortunately, I am unable to continue my course, and that is the reason for this letter.

According to the topic question, you are supposed to write to your tutor. Most likely, you know his name and you should directly address him. For Example:

Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to inform you that I won't be able to continue my LINUX evening course with you.

I thought learning “LINUX’ at your college would develop my program writing skills. Also, I assumed this one will provide me a deeper understanding in the Operating System. This were the reasons why I joined this course while working as a Software Engineer at Aldi Innovations.

bulletin point 1: describe the situation.
From my understanding, you wrote too much on why you choose this course. I guess it would be better to talk about something about this course like: when you took it; from when to when; how long you have been taking it; did you like it.

To my utter surprise, last week, I was appointed as a Senior Project Manager and transferred to the company’s branch in Australia for one year. This promotion was one of my ambitions, so I accepted without any hesitation. The pay rate also increased by 30%, and as a result, I cannot continue my course.

bulletin point 2: explain why you cannot continue at this time
My understanding is that: " This promotion was one of my ambitions, so I accepted without any hesitation. The pay rate also increased by 30%" is too personal. you don't have to tell your tutor about this.

As you know, I am always very keen to develop my knowledge with ‘LINUX’ programming. So I am looking forward to rejoin my class once I returned from overseas.

Await your reply.

Yours faithfully,

Durai

thanks Allen...

I agree...but while writing I am struggling to keep the tone appropriate...may be I should go through many letters.

here is one task 2 question for you.

Some students think that wearing a uniform in school is affecting their freedom while others disagree. How much freedom should the children be given regarding wearing of the school uniform? Give any relevant examples from your own experience.

this was the question I got band 7. you can give a try...

Simon has a band 9 letter on this topic.
you can check it.

I'll try your T2 topic later, seems to be a very difficult one.
