Task 2. PROPOSITION: Some people think that changing jobs periodically is good. PROMPT: What is your opinion?

Career changing has somehow become a trend, nowadays. This stems from the fact that many options are out in the job market, and the skills of workers have been vast. While others believe that changing jobs periodically is not a bad thing, I think there are more drawbacks than the positive effects.
Firstly, in order for someone to be successful in ones career, he/she needs to acquire a great amount of knowledge and skill on his/her craft. In a certain profession, there are stages or levels before a person can become competent then expert in his/her field. For instance, a novice medical practitioner has to gain experience in his/her field of practice for years before he/she will be proficient for the job. For the reason that experience give the person ability to withstand the pressures of work. Then, with the longer time of practice, he/she will be adept with the job, and thus will be successful in his/her own field.
Secondly, time is wasted if someone will change jobs periodically. When a person is older it is harder to gain new skills, and also start-up jobs requires a greater amount of effort. Also, employers prefer young applicants over older job seekers. For these employers know for a fact that it is easier to train the younger ones. Thus, if an individual change jobs periodically, by the time he/she is on his/her forties, he/she will have difficulty competing with other applicants who are younger.
Bringing it all together, periodic job changes may expose someone to different fields, but it does not guarantee mastery of a particular area. And now, employers prefer expertise over exposure because it brings more profit. Expertise can only be gained with consistent practice over a particular field with an extensive amount of time.
