Some people prefer to live in a house, while others feel there are more advantages to living in an apartment.
Are there more advantages than disadvantages of living in a house compared with living in an apartment?
One of the three basic necessities of life is shelter or more precisely we can say accommodation. Some people prefer to live in a house with family or as a share accommodation while other finds apartment more convenient for them. No doubt both sort of accommodation have some advantages and disadvantages which will be outlined as one by one in the following paragraphs
Generally speaking, to live in an apartment is bit expensive and less spacious as compared to house but still people choose apartment over house because they more close to their work, city, transportation and all the leisure facilities like swimming pool, indoor games and gymnasium are included within the vicinity of a apartment. They are more secured with advance security systems which lowers the risk of burglary and robbery. On top of that, it’s ideal for a bachelors or just a couple who needs more privacy and does not get along with other people in a house share.
Living in a house has its own charm and importance. Those who prefer living in a joint family will definitely buy or rent a house. Gardening is one of the most common hobbies in recent time. One gets a chance to fulfil his or her desires of decorating garden/lawn with beautiful flowers and trees. House living caters advantages of having large family or friends gathering on special occasions, with unlimited parking outside, Extra room for guests and friends to stay overnight. According to recent research published in Herald sun shows more than 60% people have pet with them for which one surely needs a house with front lawn or backyard to accommodate a pet.
Being an international student, my point of view will favour living in a house where all the amenities are equally divided among the housemates. It is an awesome experience for me to live with different people from different culture. It also reduces my home sickness.
To sum up, both the accommodations have their own importance, but to choose either of them, one should prepare a check list of interest , budget , transportation, social life, privacy, security and parking.
