men and women are suitable for different types of jobs

Post by nguyenquanghuy »

Some people think that men and women have different qualities which are why men are suitable for some types of jobs and women – for different types of jobs. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

The reason why certain jobs are mostly done by men while others are mainly taken up by women has attracted the concern of many social scientists and workers. Some people believe that the dominance of men and women in some specific sectors is attributed to the anatomical and physical structural difference between genders.

However, the perception of job suitability tends to be subject to sex discrimination, which has existed in society for centuries, rather than due to the physical ability and inability within each gender. For example, many recent studies have proved that women have more leadership competences than men, but it is a fact that many men assume leadership positions than women in most sectors. This situation is attributed to a long lasting unfounded belief that males possess more calibre than females to become leaders.

Thanks to the advent of a more balanced society of many countries in recent decades, jobs which were previously dominated by men now welcome the presence of more women and vice versa. Research shows that this change has improved productivity because the calibre of workers is no longer constricted by gender prejudice. For instance, the participation of male designers in the fashion industry has brought major breakthroughs in this world of fashion due to their exceptional/remarkable/exquisite talents and creative ideas.

In conclusion, the perception that men and women due to anatomical distinct are suitable to different kinds of jobs is usually subject to gender discrimination and hence impedes the development of the society. People regardless of their sex should be encouraged to do the job that they are interested in and feel appropriate.

Please tell me whether this essay deserves band 7
