On the proliferation of private cars on the roads in many parts of the world leading to serious problems of pollution and contributing to global warming.Some people think that governments should spend money for the development of public transportation systems in order to alleviate this problem. Others think it is better to spend money for the development of electric and other types of cars that may cause less pollution.
Today there are some problems with the proliferation of private cars. It causes such negative things like air pollution, a global warming, a greenhouse effect and acid rains. People dispute about the ways of solution of these problems.
One the one hand, some people consider that the developing of public transportation system will be prevent the proliferation of private cars. The huge average of such cars on the roads means that people prefer to own their cars some reasons. They tend to think that private cars are faster and comfortable than public transports. Besides, cars are often become as a status symbol to people. The government should take into account these advantages of private cars and try to develop a public transportation system as an alternative of private motors. For example, the government can make the new routes and make buses or undergrounds more pleasant.
As for me, I don’t think that previous idea will be effective. The air pollution will be reduced, but it won’t be enough. The second version of the solution of this problem is better. Electric and other types of cars don’t harm to the environment at all. The government should increase the private car’s tax and give a financial support to buyers of alternative kinds of transport. Moreover, estate can make more electric recharge station and propagandize the advantages of electric cars.
In conclusion, the electric and other types of cars will be solve this problem, while the developing of public transportation system will solve only some part of it.
