In some cultures, children are expected to follow very stric

Post by ria »

Every family has their own culture and rules and regulations, to be followed by all the family members. However some families rigidly and very strictly following them while some reluctantly owns them and has their freedom. Both the behavioural pattern has its positive and negative ramifications on children. This essay will outline the advantages and disadvantages of this behaviour.
Each family has their cultural values, customs and their own beliefs and rules. Some families follow them strictly and these values have been imparted to the children, and they have to follow the strict rules and abiding their orders. In spite of such strict imposing behaviour it helps children to learn discipline and more responsible human being in future. Certainly this invades the freedom and liberty to expose their childish spontaneity. However it helps to grow them the virtue of patience, dedication, being humble and mature. These children are less prone to bad habits and any criminal activities.
Every coin has two sides likewise there is dark side of this behaviour too, who follows the rules very strictly that curbs the inner qualities of the children and does not allow them to enjoy the freedom. That resulting into children wanders around prone to get bad habits and in extreme cases finally end up with criminal mind or drug addict some times. It has been often seen that in country side generally families have strong cultural values and most of the families strictly follow them. Therefore the ratio of crimes is more in town areas than in country side.
I believe there should be balanced approach to follow the rules. The family, who do not suppress feelings of their children under the umbrella of following culture and strict rules, but allow their kids to do whatever they like and gave full liberty to taste all good and bad parts of life. This will boost their self-confidence and creates opportunity to pursue in their field what they like. Such as in many western countries children have given enough freedom get enough exposure to learn and excel in their chosen path. Therefore the most of the creative and powerful innovative inventions are mostly from western countries like Google, face book, Hotmail etc. Every cloud has a silver lining, I hope soon this idea will be realized by people and they will allow and grow their children with moderate behaviour of following rules while giving them enough space to learn themselves.
