Children do not respect their parents as much as they did in the past

Post by pravallikadudhi »

‘Children do not respect their parents as much as they did in the past. This behavior is now having a negative impact on society.’ Discuss.

There is a huge evolution of globalization that has taken place over a period of time. For this reason, there is a rapid flip in the mindset of the old and young generation. Due to the dramatic growth in Media, Science, Technology and many other fields, children tend to discover more things by themselves and also spending more time in-front of Television, the Internet or Video gaming, which is, in turn, reducing the dependency towards parents.

Once upon a time, the lifestyle of our parents was quite simple. They were well disciplined because of the continuous guidance from their parents. During those days, parents used to spend more time talking to them, knowing the child needs, watching them out on their activities, teaching them how to be respectful not only to parents and elders but also to oneself.

In this day and age, firstly, parents are being very ambitious to achieve their goals in order to give a bright future to their kids, but they are indeed missing to teach them values, not spending enough time, not showing love or approval for their achievements. As a result, the children are left out with low self-esteem and self-worth.

Secondly, some parents tend to shout at their kids for their slightest mistakes, though the mistakes happened by accident or unintentional. As we all know that, parents are the role models to their kids. Children tend to imitate what parents do and so they disrespect them in return. Furthermore, kids are exposed to many other dangerous things in the society without parent’s supervision. As a result, this is dangerously leading to child’s self-sabotage and inadequacy.

In order to eradicate this situation and reverse the system again, parents should take enough care supervising their kids, teaching them good values; spending sufficient time and appreciate little things by acknowledging the unconditional love toward their children. By this way, children will feel loved, appreciated and respected, which boosts their self-esteem and self-confidence. This could make them behave responsibly and be respectful towards their elders.

Globalization has taken place over a period of time, for this reason, there is a rapid flip in the mindset of the old and young generation. Due to the incredible growth of media, science and technology, and many other fields, children tend to discover more things by themselves and also spend more time watching television, surfing the Internet and playing video games, which in turn, reduces the dependency towards parents.

Once upon a time, the lifestyle of our parents was quite simple; they were well disciplined because of the continuous guidance from their parents. During those days, parents used to spend more time talking to their wards, knowing their needs, watching out on their activities, teaching them how to be respectful not only to parents and elders, but also to oneself.

However, In today's age, parents are being very ambitious to achieve their goals, hence, to give a bright future to their kids. Moreover, they forget to teach moral value to them s, spend enough time with them, show affection or appreciate their achievements. As a result, the children are left out with low self-esteem.

Some parents tend to shout at their kids for their slightest mistake, though it might have happened unintentionally. As we all know that, parents are the role models to their kids, they imitate their parents behavior. So they disrespect them in return. Furthermore, kids are exposed to many harmful things in society without their parent’s supervision, this leads to self-sabotage(forced vocab, doesn't fit here) and inadequacy (of what?).

In order to eradicate this situation, parents should take enough care of their kids, teach them good values, spend sufficient time and acknowledge little things by showering unconditional love towards their children. This way, children will feel loved, appreciated and respected, which will boost their self-esteem and self-confidence. As a result, this could make them responsible human beings and respectful towards their elders.
