Please give me feedback

Post by faruk079 »

Dear altruists,
Is it mandatory to speak exactly 2 minutes on the topic of cue card? If I talk 1-1.5 minutes, will it lower my score?

I believe speaking until you are interrupted by examiner will not loose you marks.

Hi

You should speak for 2 minutes and the examiner will stop you if you reach two minutes. That is ok. The examiner may ask you a follow up question but that is unlikely. You won't lose marks, necessarily, if you only speak for a minute or a minute and a half but you will have to show that you meet all the requirements for the IELTS grade in the other parts of the test. If you do get stuck look at the prompts (these are little suggestions about things you want to talk about) which will help you to talk about something else.

Good luck
