Hello!
I know this question might seem a bit silly, but I have always wondered how to use question marks correctly.
For example, should I put the question marks in the end of these sentences:
1) May I request more information from you,please./?
2) May I know whether this score is acceptable or not./?
3) After we are done with the homework, could we watch the television./?

Also, how to know which way is correct for this sentence?
4) I was wondering how could I forget it./ I was wondering how I could forget it.

I am so confused. Please advise

Hi Praoparn,

Definitely not a silly question, a lot of students struggle with the correct use of question marks.
1) May I request more information from you,please./?
2) May I know whether this score is acceptable or not./?
3) After we are done with the homework, could we watch the television./?
One thing I would note about these sentences is that they are worded a little awkwardly which may explain some of your confusion. The words may be in the wrong order.

You may want to phrase the first example as:
Please may I request more information from you?
However, all would require question marks.
Also, how to know which way is correct for this sentence?
4) I was wondering how could I forget it./ I was wondering how I could forget it.
This sentence seems incomplete and doesn't completely make sense however the first sounds best. It is a problem with the tense. The correct tense might read: "I was wondering how I forgot."

I hope this helps. If you need any further practice I have lots of free resources as well as tutor training on www.passmyielts.com
