I have taken ielts twice and always scored 6.5 in writing.I know the format of essays.I need 7 in writing..I am practicing a lot but my score never goes beyond 6.5.I am at the verge of giving up now.Please let me know how can I improve my scores.

In my experience, this is usually a grammar issue - grammatical accuracy to be specific. At band 7 level, the examiner is looking for error-free sentences. Many candidates produce a good range of structures, but make too many mistakes to move to band 7. My suggestion is that you look at your sentences and see if there is any way to cut down their length. Many candidates write very long sentences which could easily be reduced, yet still qualify as complex structures.
