Are 4 IELTS parts independent from each other?

Hello!

Is it possible to get 7.5 in Writing and 5.5 in the rest parts (Speaking, Reading, Listening), for example? I am asking because I've never seen that someone's Writing score was the highest compared to the rest.

Thank you.

Yes, it's possible, as all parts are marked independently. Like you, I have never heard of anyone getting such a score. (However, you'd be surprised how many students of mine believe they will get a score like that!)

Thank you!
The example was just imagined.

Yes, it is possible.

I could easily score a 5 for one part and 9 for another part if I want to (by deliberately not answering some questions).
